Weekend in Iowa

I spent a fun weekend in Iowa with the girls on May 3-4. After flying out Saturday morning, I picked up the girls at their house. Then we checked into our cool hotel-like-a-castle.

Then we went to a carnival at Eva's school. The girls played in the playground for a while, rode rides, played games, and we ate some pizza. I got to meet some of Eva's friends and teachers, too. But we soon were ready for something else - swimming!

Back to the hotel-like-a-castle, we got into our swim suits and went to the indoor pool. The girls swam, made a new friend, and were very intrigued by the underwater window into the restaurant. So - we ate dinner there and got to look back out the other way into the pool. Very exciting!

On Sunday, we had breakfast by the pool, swam some more (of course!), and then drove up to Cedar Rapids for the day. In Cedar Rapids, we checked out Old MacDonald's Farm at Bever Park. Then we found a subway and had a picnic by a playground before heading over to Super Skate Roller Skating Rink. We skated for a few hours and then drove back to Iowa City, where we went to the mall to reincarnate Cece's favorite cat Dorothy at Build-A-Bear Workshop. Dorothy came back as a pink polka-dotted panther!

As in case that wasn't enough fun, next we went to see Horton Hears a Who, which was a great movie for all of us. We ended the day with dinner at Arby's before I dropped my lovely ladies off at home.

Here are some pictures from our super great weekend!
