Having Fun in Airports

Various pictures gathered from some of our airport adventures over the years...

Maquoketa Caves State Park

I took the girls on a Dad-Daughter Adventure this weekend. We went spelunking in some natural caves near Maquoketa, Iowa. It was a great adventure, and although we saw some other girls with their brothers, I'm pretty sure I was the only dad there with his two daughters!

The fountain at the end is in downtown Iowa City.

Eva's Scrapbook

Eva showed me her really awesome scrapbook while I was visiting over the weekend. It's great to see that she cherishes all these fun memories!

First Day of School

Cece started kindergarten this year. Here are some pictures of her and Eva getting ready for the first day of school.

Cece's First Haircut!

Cece finally decided to lop off all that beautiful long hair. The results are amazing! She looks much older and still cute as a button!

Weekend in Iowa

I spent a fun weekend in Iowa with the girls on May 3-4. After flying out Saturday morning, I picked up the girls at their house. Then we checked into our cool hotel-like-a-castle.

Then we went to a carnival at Eva's school. The girls played in the playground for a while, rode rides, played games, and we ate some pizza. I got to meet some of Eva's friends and teachers, too. But we soon were ready for something else - swimming!

Back to the hotel-like-a-castle, we got into our swim suits and went to the indoor pool. The girls swam, made a new friend, and were very intrigued by the underwater window into the restaurant. So - we ate dinner there and got to look back out the other way into the pool. Very exciting!

On Sunday, we had breakfast by the pool, swam some more (of course!), and then drove up to Cedar Rapids for the day. In Cedar Rapids, we checked out Old MacDonald's Farm at Bever Park. Then we found a subway and had a picnic by a playground before heading over to Super Skate Roller Skating Rink. We skated for a few hours and then drove back to Iowa City, where we went to the mall to reincarnate Cece's favorite cat Dorothy at Build-A-Bear Workshop. Dorothy came back as a pink polka-dotted panther!

As in case that wasn't enough fun, next we went to see Horton Hears a Who, which was a great movie for all of us. We ended the day with dinner at Arby's before I dropped my lovely ladies off at home.

Here are some pictures from our super great weekend!

Bratz Girls by Cecilia

CeCe colored these Bratz pictures for me. She really likes black mascara!

Christmas Stories

Eva and Cece collaborated on this collection of Christmas Stories for me:

Christmas 2007

Eva and Cece came to Pennsylvania for Christmas again this year.

We had a great time visiting family and friends. We went to Hershey Park with Brad, Chrissy, David, and Zach and then stayed in a hotel (with a pool of course!). The next day we went to a party at Aunt Darlene's church in Dillsburg, where we got to visit and exchange gifts with all of our Lerew relatives.

Then we spent Christmas Eve and Day at Gram and Papa's.

After Christmas, we went to see STOMP! at the Merriam Theater in Philadelphia with the Kennedy's (my super girlfriend Ro and her boys Andrew and Joe). Then we saw Sleeping Beauty at the Arden Theater. Here are some pictures of the characters from the Arden website:

Both shows were really fun. Cece thought STOMP! was a little bit too loud. Eva got to ask Sleeping Beauty a question after the show - she asked how she fell asleep for so long. Sleeping Beauty said it was just like playing freeze tag.

Here's an album with pictures from the whole visit:
