Chilling Out with Daddy

Dressed up and ready to skate, at last!

This is CeCe's favorite pose - hugging her big sister.
Eva the Cat Princess - looking good.

I was afraid she had a bloody nose every time she came around the rink.

CeCe decided to watch after she discovered how slippery and cold ice is.

A nice mom kept an eye on her so I could skate a few laps with Eva and get some pictures. Posted by Picasa

Visiting the Girls in Iowa

Last week, I got to spend 4 wonderful days visiting the girls at their house in Iowa.

On Thursday, I got to visit Eva's classroom and meet her teacher. CeCe and I went in for lunch in the cafeteria and then joined the class for the afternoon. Then I had scheduled a Parent-Teacher Conference with Mrs. O'Hara. She assures me Eva is doing great, making lots of friends, and is a very smart girl. I felt so proud and glad that I was able to see her at school.

On Friday, CeCe and I had some fun alone time while Eva was at school. After breakfast and cartoons, we went to "Smushy Land" at the mall.

In fact, we all spent a lot of time at the Coral Ridge Mall, which has an ice skating rink, a great children's museum, food court, a cool carousel, glow-in-the-dark miniature golf, a movie theater, and more.

Friday night we went Ice Skating. Eva was very excited to try it again. We had done it once previously when I visited in November 2005. We had to sidetrack to the Children's Museum because we got there too early, and then the line was very long. It worked out well - when we left the museum there was no line, and we still had plenty of skating time. CeCe and I ended up not skating much (a bit too slippy for her!). A nice mom kept an eye on her so I could skate a few laps with Eva and get some pictures.

On Saturday, we saw The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. I was a little nervous that it would be too scary for CeCe, but everyone liked it.

On Sunday, we went the Eagles Club for a delicious pancake breakfast. Then we hung out at the girls' house. We had a relaxing day playing games and crafts while working on cleaning up the house.

I can't wait until we see each other again.
